We recommend the RIB seat/bed system which we fit to our Freebird Conversions and preferred by the majority of our customers for looks, comfort, durability, safety…. and price. We also fit the traditional variotech and REIMO’s 333 variotech seat/bed system on the sliding rail system.
The RIB seat, imported from France, boasts excellent ergonomic design. It unfolds to provide fully flat and comfortable sleeping. The bed measures 1940mm long; 2 seater width is 1120mm; 3 seater width 1500mm.
The seat provides handy storage area beneath which can be fitted with drop-down flaps or drawers.
The seat belts are pre-fitted to the seat, crash test dummy tested to EU regs. The strength of the design and with integral headrests, also makes this seat excellent from a safety point of view.
But ensure your seat is fitted correctly. At The Freebird Conversions Workshop the RIB seat frame is bolted to the floor using 8mm plate which spans the chassis and is secured with 23 bolts.
The RIB seat/bed system is also available with arm rests, and can be ordered in a wide range of vehicle fabrics.

This is the new generation of seat/bed, now taken over from the Variotech as the seat to have, with integral approved seat belts, the shaped seating uses special fold out design to provide fully flat sleeping.
The bed dimensions are 1120mm wide x 1940mm long.
The high seat frame allows you varying storage options beneath the seat.
The seat slides up and down the van by 200mm (similar to normal car front seats)
The RIB seat is fully tested to EU regs
Seat is suppplied in Inca2 fabric for the T5
